Every one of us who has a son or daughter (or other family member) in college wants that person to succeed. Yet how to help them succeed is different in college from the way it was in high school. And lots of parents bristle when college administrators and faculty tell them “We can’t talk to you since your son is now an adult.” Oh, really? That may not be the way you see him.
Well, the colleges are right: and yet they’re wrong, because your son will always be your son, your daughter will always be your daughter, and you want nothing else for them but happiness and success.
